Events & Courses at The Ness
Carer support events at The Ness
At the Ness we are committed to helping families and informal carers. It is incredibly important that informal carers are given advice, respite and peer support through this journey so they can stay resilient for their loved ones.
At each of our sites we run coffee mornings, peer support or courses focused on helping families to understand dementia and gain resilience through a network of support. From Exmouth Coffee Mornings to Teignmouth courses check out what is happening at The Ness to help you!
The Ness Dementia Courses
The Ness Care Group are one of the leading experts in dementia across Devon and are passionate about using the latest research to guide their therapies and support. We want to share our expertise and teach health professionals, carer professionals and families all about dementia.
Our courses run every month and look in depth both at the biology of the disease itself and the latest treatments, therapies and ideas. Our courses are open to all and if you are a Ness member completely free!
The Ness Webinars & Podcast
The Ness Webinars are designed to pick interesting topics on memory loss & dementia and talk about the latest research. Whether that is the benefits of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy or discussing the financial management of helping someone with memory loss.
Many of the Webinars are recorded by one of The Ness team but we also bring in experts to talk about a range of subjects. The Ness dementia Webinar is a quick easy way to learn more on this fascinating subject and they are open to anyone across the UK!
1:1 with a Ness Health Professional
At The Ness we are very aware that it is not always easy to access health professionals who can offer specific advice about some of the symptoms and challenges associated with dementia.
Jonathan is a dementia nurse specialist with decades of experience and can help with most aspects of dementia. However, The Ness can also link families with an OT, a Speech and Language Therapist and other professionals.
Note: This is only open to Ness members but let us know if you would like 1:1 time with a healthcare professional.
